About Machnet Medical Robotics:
Machnet Medical Robotics (MMR) is developing MRI-safe needle positioning solutions. As a spin off from the university of Twente, MMR is commercializing the SUNRam 5 technology that originates from the Robotics and Mechatronics Lab led by Prof. S. Stramigioli.

Solution:
MRI imaging technology is based on magnetic resonance and therefore specialized materials are required to use MRI as an interventional technology. The uses of MRI for breast cancer diagnosis and imaging are growing due to the. Inherent benefits of the technology, however interventional procedures are complex and time consuming. MMR is developing a real-time needle positioning robot that is geared towards the use in the MRI, providing accurate biopsies and high-performance efficient procedures.
